TYPES OF EVENTS
I do a variety of events every year. If you're interested in seeing me at one, check the dates listed above. I try to put up info for public events as soon as they're confirmed. I also post them on Instagram.
If you are interested in booking me for an event like the ones below, please reach out to Emily Varga at the Simon & Schuster Speakers Bureau at (212) 698-7693 or emily.varga@simonandschuster.com.
BOOKSTORES
I love visiting bookstores across the country and typically do about 25 bookstore events every year. Most of these are when I am touring, but I also add them to my regular travels.
At many of them another author joines me as a conversation partner. Some of recent ones have been Jeff Kinney, Stuart Gibbs, Erin Entrada Kelly, Meg Medina, Chris Grabenstein, Gordon Korman, and Christina Soontornvat.

FESTIVALS
Book Festivals are amazing because they bring together so many authors and readers in one place. Almost every year I'm part of the North Texas Teen Book Festival (Irving, TX), which has 15,000 young readers spending the day with 70+ authors. It's my favorite event.
I usually do 4 festivals a year. Recent favorites include Tweens Read (Houston, TX), Bookmarks Festival of Books (Winston-Salem, NC), and the all-new Florida Children's Book Festival (Orlando).

SCHOOL VISITS
I love visiting schools, and used to do it all the time. Unfortunately, writing two books a year has severely limited my availability.
I still try to visit 5 a year and usually do a combination of presentations and writing workshops. There is no secret formula as to which I can do. It comes schedule and geography aligning just right. I'm sorry that I cannot do more of them.

CONFERENCES
Conferences are a wonderful way to connect with librarians and booksellers. I've done keynote addresses at several and in addition to doing presentations, I like to throw a Spy Party one evening. These feature games, desserts, giveaways, and visits from suprise guest authors.
Among the conferences I've been a part of are ALA, AASL, Children's Institute, Winter Institute, FAME, TLA, MASL, SIBA, and other state conferences.

PUBLIC LIBRARIES
A true pinch me moment occurred when I presented to young readers at the New York Public Library. It was a far cry from the tiny Beach Branch of the Jacksonville Public Library where I first got books as a kid.
I have done events at public libraries in Florida, Connecticut, Ohio, Michigan, Texas, and Missouri. It is a great way to connect with readers of all ages in a single community.
