I've taken spy tours of London and Vienna, raced across Biscayne Bay in a police boat, gone behind the scenes at the the New York Public Library, and ventured down into the Parisian catacombs, where the walls are lined with human skulls. I did it all in the name of research and loved every second of it.  

I'm often asked, "Have you been to all of the places in your books?" Unfortunately, I haven't. But I try to visit as many as I can. This is not only for research but also because I love to travel.
